beta

Welcome to the TonePaths beta.

TonePaths transforms your phone's motion into synchronized sound and visuals. Touch the screen and move through space — draw glowing paths in the air, hear tones shift with your gesture, replay your recordings. Use it as a standalone instrument with built-in audio, or as a wireless MIDI controller for any BLE-MIDI compatible software or hardware.

Guide

Everything you need to get started — placing the stage, drawing and replaying paths, performance profiles, audio & MIDI controls, and connecting a viewer device.

+MIDI

Use TonePaths as a wireless MIDI controller over Bluetooth LE. Tested with Ableton Live — should work with any BLE-MIDI compatible host.

Using TonePaths as a MIDI controller

Privacy

TonePaths accesses your device's motion sensors and camera (for AR stage placement) to function as a musical instrument. All motion and sensor data is processed locally on your device and is not collected, stored, or transmitted to any server. When using MIDI output, data is sent only to the Bluetooth device you explicitly connect to. When using Viewer Mode, motion data is sent only to the peer device you connect to via MultipeerConnectivity on your local network.
